Next week our local public radio station WUTC begins its spring member drive. Many of you are aware that we solicit donations to UUCC that are put in a fund to buy underwriting announcements for UUCC, on WUTC. In short, UUCC gets helpful exposure instead of your getting a tote bag.
It’s particularly important now to delay WUTC getting money in hand because, to the horror of National Public Radio and civil libertarians everywhere, strong-arm tactics from our state officials led to the firing of WUTC reporter Jacqui Helbert for doing her job well. We will let it be known when we continue our on-air promotion that we support WUTC and free speech.
