  • Our youth in grades 6-12 have begun attending service on the first Sunday of each month. Victoria Henry did an amazing job on October 1, reading both the opening words and the children’s story. Many thanks to Cathy and the WOWzers for welcoming these young folks, and inviting them to contribute in a myriad of ways.
  • Courage was the theme for our October Children’s Chapel. (We draw our monthly themes from the Soul Matters website.) DRE led a Fearless Flying Dragon ceremony with the kids in October’s chapel.
  • RE parent and superstar volunteer Wendy Sapp attended a Junior & Senior High OWL training in Johnson City. Wendy is now certified to facilitate OWL for grades 7-9 & 10-12, as well as grades K-1 & 4-6.
  • The fabulous Carol Hobbs led an Abstract Art Workshop for our teens in September. Carol and the Art On The Walls crew then installed the teens artwork in the sanctuary, now on display through October. We’re so grateful for Carol and her continued investment in (and support of) our UUCC youth.
  • DRE met with Sandy Kurtz, tom kunesh, Blake Deyer, and Mary Lou Reed to begin planning our Earth Day service and potluck. We’re very much looking forward to ushering in this new UUCC tradition!
  • Looking ahead: UU Kids service on November 19. RE Multicultural Winter Holidays service on December 17. UU Teens service on February 11. Earth Day Celebration on April 22. Bridging & RE Volunteer recognition on May 6.
